Hi, I’m Genaya, a registered Independent Celebrant. I live on the Kapiti Coast with my husband and children. I love being close to nature. Our home is nestled amongst  Pohutukawa, Golden Totara, and Kowhai trees and a few minutes walk to the Waikanae river.

I have always served my community in some capacity over the years. My interest in caring for others started when I was 4 years old! I have vivid memories of accompanying my grandma on her ‘Meals on Wheels’ rounds. I recall the gratitude and happiness of the clients when my grandmother and I would arrive, smiles on our faces and a little time to chat. I am a people lover, with a deep sense of empathy and understanding of others, a woman of my word.

With a background in event coordination and strong writing, communication, interpersonal & organisation skills, I am well placed to work with you to produce a meaningful service to reflect your wishes and to ensure the service feels right for you. Being organised means on the day of your wedding ceremony, you can relax and enjoy the moments knowing everything is taken care of.

I have a Certificate of Celebrant Studies from the Celebrant School Aotearoa and one paper away from a Diploma in Celebrant Studies. I am a member of the Celebrants’ Association of NZ and are actively involved in professional development to further extend my Celebrant offerings.

I love the opportunity to get to know couples and families, and to work with them to ensure their special life milestones are all they hoped for.
